Hey music fam, ever had a track hit you like a late-night warehouse fever dream where old-school grooves crash into something hypnotic and brand new? That’s exactly what Saqib delivers with his fresh cut "Junoon" – a pulsating blend of Techno, Old-School House, and Electro that’s already turning heads in the underground scene.
If you’re into that raw, body-moving energy where the bassline locks you in and the synths refuse to let go, Saqib’s latest is pure fire. This isn’t just another club tool; it’s got that infectious drive that feels like a love letter to the dancefloor while nodding to deeper roots. The production hits with crisp, rolling percussion and those signature old-school house swings that make your hips move before your brain even catches up. It’s the kind of track that builds tension perfectly, then drops you into a groove that screams “play me loud.”
Meet Saqib: From Rock Roots to Brooklyn Techno Wizard
Saqib is a Pakistani DJ and producer now calling Brooklyn, New York home. He’s been making music since his teenage years, starting out in rock and heavy metal before fully diving into techno and house back in 2008. The guy is a true collector of sounds and a lifelong student of the game – you can hear that dedication in every release.
Since 2013 he’s been dropping music consistently on respected labels like Sol Selectas, Flying Circus, Cenote, Magician on Duty, Dream Culture, Camel Riders, and Abracadabra. He kicked things off early as the first resident for NYC’s Member’s Only back in 2014, and right now he’s holding down resident spots with both Abracadabra (where he hosts the weekly Sunday stream “Love Jams” at 8pm EST) and ebb + flow NYC. On top of that, he manages ebb + flow records and often goes back-to-back with Bryant Jensen (aka Jamburglars). During lockdown he stayed locked in the studio writing tons of new music, and we’re finally getting to hear the fruits of that grind with several exciting releases rolling out.
"Junoon" feels like a natural evolution of his sound – that old-school house foundation mixed with modern electro edge and techno drive. It’s the perfect example of why Saqib has become such a respected name in the New York underground: he respects the classics while pushing things forward.
Right now the electronic scene is seeing a beautiful resurgence of old-school house and techno influences blending with global sounds. Tracks like this are reminding everyone why the dancefloor still matters – it’s about connection, energy, and losing yourself in the rhythm. Saqib’s work sits right in that sweet spot, especially as more artists draw from cultural roots to create fresh hybrids that stand out in 2026 playlists.
If you’re craving that proper underground feel with a touch of hypnotic euphoria, do yourself a favor and spin "Junoon" immediately. It’s the kind of record that works in the club, in your headphones on a night walk, or even as the soundtrack to your next pre-game.
What do you think – does "Junoon" give you that instant dancefloor itch, or is there another Saqib track that’s your go-to? Drop your thoughts in the comments below, share this with your crew, and tag a friend who needs more old-school house/techno vibes in their life!
