Pretty Girl Body Step EP: Australian House Producer Returns Stronger After Hiatus with Deep House Grooves

Hey everyone, welcome back to the blog where we dive into the freshest sounds hitting the scene. If you've been craving that perfect mix of nostalgic house grooves and modern emotional depth, Pretty Girl has just delivered exactly what we needed. The acclaimed Australian producer-singer is back after a deliberate year away with her "Body Step" EP, and it's a triumphant reconnection to the dancefloor energy that made her a name to watch.

Released on July 8, 2026, via her own label earthside, the EP features two house records: the lead track "Body Step" and "Satisfy." Both showcase her signature style—old-school house foundations meeting deep house textures. Drawing from Chicago house rhythms, she layers in gauzy progressive elements, trance-tinged lo-fi vibes, and UKG basslines. It's music that thrives in that sweet spot between peak-time club energy and the reflective comedown walk home. The lead cut started in a Tottenham studio with a Prophet-5 synth and evolved over a summer of dancing, pulling from global dancefloor memories. You can feel that lived-in groove in every layer.

For those new to Pretty Girl, her real name is Emilia Predebon, a Melbourne-born musician, DJ, producer, and vocalist who's carved out her own lane in electronic music. She started making waves in Melbourne's underground clubs before exploding onto the international stage. Since Resident Advisor dubbed her "a star in the making" back in 2023, she's played massive spots like Coachella, gone viral with a Boiler Room set, toured alongside Bonobo, and dropped a remix for Romy and Fred again.. She's also released previous EPs like "Middle Ground," "One Night, One Time," and "Get Back to Me," building a dedicated following with her introspective yet danceable sound.

This comeback feels especially meaningful. Pretty Girl took that year off to go internal, reflecting on her creative process. As she shared, "A very important part of producing is knowing what you want, and when I found myself unable to answer that question I decided to go internal for 12 months. That time gave me freedom to go deeper with my sound and to really enjoy making music again." The result? Tracks she's genuinely proud of that capture her love for dance music right now. In her words about the EP: "I have always found something quite profound in dance music: how it makes us move... When I'm dancing I feel free... 'Body Step' started in a studio in Tottenham last year with a Prophet-5. Then slowly, over a summer of dancing, the rest of the song came together."

The timing couldn't be better. House music, especially old-school and deep house revivals, is having a moment in 2026, with artists leaning into groovy, swing-filled production that prioritizes feel over flash. Pretty Girl's blend fits perfectly—hypnotic rhythms, warm basslines, and her own airy vocals create that emotional pull. It's the kind of music that connects on the dancefloor while lingering long after. Recent momentum includes a 90-minute RA Podcast mix (RA.1043) earlier in June, and now she's signed with Red Light Management, teaming up with Leon Alexander and Jamie Porten for the next phase. A debut album is in the works too.

Live, she's even more compelling. Her sets translate studio warmth into something visceral. Catch her at upcoming shows like Krankbrother at Finsbury Park on August 7, Lost Village on August 28, and Leeds Festival on August 30. If you're into deep house that feels personal and body-moving, this EP is essential listening. Stream it on Spotify, YouTube, or Apple Music and let it pull you in.
