BARTAN Takes Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall" to the Dancefloor

Covering Pink Floyd is a bold move. Turning "Another Brick in the Wall" into a dancefloor track is even bolder. BARTAN went for it anyway, and his new version gives one of rock's most famous anthems a fresh, club-ready life.

Who Is BARTAN?

BARTAN is an electronic live musician, producer and performer from Barcelona. According to his bio, he has been making music for 25 years, moving through everything from hard rock to organic downtempo house. These days he splits his work into two projects: BARTAN, where he blends progressive house, melodic techno and rock, and Bartan Beat, where he focuses on slow organic house and downtempo.

That rock background explains a lot. Reworking classic rock songs isn't a gimmick for him, it's where he comes from.

Following Up a Hit

This isn't his first rock cover. His previous one was a take on Dire Straits' "Money For Nothing", and according to BARTAN it was named Best Remix, landed on Spotify editorial playlists and passed 200K streams. "Another Brick in the Wall" is his next shot, and he's openly aiming to beat that record.

The new version leans into indie dance: the original's famous groove gets a steady electronic pulse underneath, turning a protest anthem into something you can lose yourself to on a dancefloor. To my ears it keeps enough of the original to be recognisable while sounding like it belongs in a modern DJ set.

The track came out on October 11th, 2026 via Bartan Studio.

Rock Classics, Electronic Makeovers

Electronic reworks of rock classics are everywhere right now, from melodic house edits to full indie dance remakes. When they're done well, they introduce timeless songs to a new generation while giving older fans a reason to hit the dancefloor. With his live-musician approach and rock roots, BARTAN is well placed to do exactly that.

Why It Works

The trick with covering a song this famous is to respect it without copying it, and BARTAN finds that balance. The recognisable parts are still there, so to my ears the singalong moment remains, but the electronic production gives it a completely different context. It's easy to imagine this one dropping at a festival and the whole crowd shouting along. If the last cover is anything to go by, this one could travel far.
