GIXBLEX "SOCA NO TALENTO" Review: Italian Producer Goes Phonk

0

Italian producer GIXBLEX switches lanes with "SOCA NO TALENTO", a short, punchy phonk track with Portuguese lyrics. The moods are energetic, happy and aggressive all at once, which is pretty much phonk in a nutshell.

Who Is GIXBLEX?

GIXBLEX is an Italian producer focused on bass house and tech house, who has also made heavier genres like psytrance and techno. On Spotify the releases lean toward hypertechno and big room, and the output is impressive.

2026 alone brought a single almost every month: "Tipsy" in January, "Make It Out" in February, "Wasting Time" with Jake Ryan in March, then "All Time", "LOCK", "FEELS", "Fast Love" with Synthodic, "Mounters", "BORN AGAIN" and "Turn The Lights Off" with TECHNO KING in September. Other tracks on the profile include "Everybody", "Best You Ever Had", "Acid Round" and collaborations with artists like Luca Testa and NALYRO.

From Bass House to Phonk

"SOCA NO TALENTO" is a different flavor. Phonk, and especially the style with Portuguese vocals, has exploded over the last few years in gym playlists, car edits and short-form video. It's built on heavy, distorted bass, rattling percussion and a menacing groove, and it's a logical step for a producer who already lives at the hard end of dance music.

The mood tags, energetic, happy and aggressive, sound like a contradiction, but anyone who's heard phonk knows how it works: it's aggressive in sound, but it makes you grin while you're going hard in the gym or behind the wheel.

Three Versions

The release comes in three versions, as phonk tracks often do: the original at around a minute and forty seconds, a slowed version for that heavy, dragging feel, and a sped-up version for maximum intensity. It's short, but that's the point. Phonk tracks are made to hit hard and loop endlessly.

Why It's Worth a Listen

It's always interesting when a producer with a clear sound tries something new. GIXBLEX brings a dancefloor producer's sense of energy and impact to a genre that thrives on exactly that, and the result is a quick, high-octane blast for your next workout.

A Tip for Independent Artists

Dropping a new single almost every month takes a distribution setup that keeps up. If you're releasing your own music, DistroKid (affiliate link) makes it easy to reach Spotify, Apple Music and other major platforms, and this link gets you 7% off your membership.
