There’s something quietly powerful about tracks that don’t rush to impress you. Melodic techno and melodic house have spent the last few years leaning into that space—long, patient builds, shifting atmospheres, and grooves that feel more like a conversation than a statement. Iman Deeper’s Unmask fits right into that current. Released on Deed Music, it’s a deep, emotive piece that prioritises hypnotic movement and evolving layers over immediate drops.
The production stays restrained but detailed. Hypnotic grooves sit underneath evolving atmospheric textures, the kind that reward repeated listens rather than demanding attention on the first pass. In a genre where many producers still chase peak-time energy, Unmask leans into the slower, more immersive side of melodic techno and melodic house. It’s the sort of track that works equally well in a late-night set or as headphone music when you want something that moves without shouting.
Iman Deeper has been producing for fifteen years. His relationship with house music started underground by necessity. Growing up in Tehran, where non-traditional music lived in private spaces, he eventually left Iran and spent time in Rome. There he performed under the name La Roca while developing the skills that would later define his sound. He is now based in Berlin, a city that has long served as a hub for house and techno in all its forms. Along the way he has played venues across Germany and composed work for clients including Audi Deutschland and Vice Magazine.
In 2021 he launched Deed Music, the imprint that now carries Unmask. The label was created as a home for his own releases and for other artists working across electronic genres. He continues to act as both artist and label manager, treating the platform as a space for the community he wants to support rather than simply another outlet for his own catalogue. That dual role gives the release a clear context: this is music coming from someone who has spent years both making tracks and building infrastructure for others to do the same.
Berlin’s electronic scene remains crowded, yet the mid-tempo, atmosphere-first approach that Unmask represents continues to find listeners who prefer depth over density. Deed Music’s focus on supporting emerging talent alongside established producers like Iman Deeper suggests the label is positioned to keep contributing to that corner of the scene. Unmask itself doesn’t try to redefine the genre; it simply occupies it with clarity and patience.
If you spend time with melodic techno or melodic house, Unmask is worth adding to a playlist that favours gradual progression over instant peaks. It is the kind of track that reveals more of its structure the longer it runs. What do you think of this style of atmospheric, groove-led electronic music? Let me know in the comments.
