Three Swiss techno heads, one track, and a remix built for the peak of the night. "Evolution Mind" by Iron Perez and Niels Way gets a fresh take from Are Bee, and it's epic, energetic and made for the moment the lights go down and the whole room moves as one.
Meet the Artists
Iron Perez is a Swiss sound engineer and producer working in progressive techno and experimental electronic music. Cinematic atmosphere is a big part of his sound, and he's a devoted fan of analog hardware, valuing the texture and expressiveness of machines. His signature EP series is called Experimental Trip, and in 2022 he founded his own label, IMORX Records, which is also home to "Evolution Mind".
Niels Way is a Swiss techno DJ and producer from Yverdon who has been active since 1997. His sets cover peak-time, industrial and deep techno, and he founded the GND Concept collective with his brother Deven Fox.
Are Bee is a Swiss producer from Nyon, known for distinctive techno soundscapes. Are Bee draws on a range of established styles and blends them into an energetic signature sound, and as a multi-genre producer loves venturing across different styles. Regular readers might remember the mainstage techno version of "La Danza Eterna" that Are Bee made with Jean-Michel DJ.
What the Remix Does
Are Bee stays close to the original's tempo but brings a personal signature to it. Cinematic layers stir buried emotions in the breakdown and let you float on the dancefloor for a moment. Then comes the drop, which fuses different shades of techno, with nods to Kaufmann, Massano, Space 92 and Chris Avantgarde. If those names are in your playlists, you'll know the kind of big, driving energy to expect.
That balance between emotion and power is what makes the remix work. The cinematic side fits Iron Perez's love of narrative, atmospheric production, while the drop lands squarely in the peak and driving techno territory that Niels Way plays out in his sets.
The Evolution Mind (Remixes) EP
"Evolution Mind" came out on IMORX Records as a remix EP with four versions: the original in a radio edit and an extended version, and the Are Bee remix in a radio edit and an extended version. The remix radio edit runs just under four minutes, while the extended cut stretches to almost six, giving DJs plenty of room to mix in and out.
Who Is It For?
If you like your techno epic, energetic and made for long sets, this one deserves a spot in your crate. The extended version is the obvious pick for DJs, while the radio edit is a quick hit for a workout or late-night drive.
