Ossico At Midnight (feat. Houston Fry) Review: Dark, Sexy Future House

0

Some tracks are made for late nights, and Ossico's "At Midnight" wears that on its sleeve. Teaming up with vocalist Houston Fry, the Dallas producer delivers a dark, sexy blend of alt pop, future house and deep house that feels right at home once the sun goes down.

Who Is Ossico?

Ossico is an electronic artist based in Dallas, Texas. His music blends the organic sound of live instruments with synthesizers and electronic beats, and his catalogue has a chill vibe, with piano, guitar and saxophone often playing a big part. He has been releasing music since 2019, when he put out the Vitae and Aura EPs, and he loves working with guest vocalists. Over the years he's teamed up with singers like Erica Daniels, Carl Kammeyer, Arymn, Olivia Elizabeth Basar, Lyle Kam and Saul City.

2026 has been a productive year. Before "At Midnight" he released a VIP House Mix of "All So Real" with Night Of The Avalon and the single "My Time", and since then a VIP House Mix of "Love" with Erica Daniels has followed. His releases come out on Ossico Records.

Round Two With Houston Fry

"At Midnight" isn't the first time these two have joined forces. Back in May 2026, Ossico and Houston Fry released the house track "Forget the Rest", so this is already their second collaboration this year. Clearly the chemistry is there.

Houston Fry has a solid catalogue of his own, including the Light EP from 2023, the 2025 album Everything Honey, and singles like "Good Mourning", "Blue Dream" and "You Are Love". He also features on D-TREX's house single "Lovely", so he's no stranger to the dance world.

Dark, Sexy and Made for the Night

The title says it all. "At Midnight" comes with dark and sexy moods, and it sits right where alt pop meets the groove of future house and deep house. That combination works: the pop side keeps it vocal-led and catchy, while the house side gives it a groove you can actually move to. At just under three minutes, it's tight and focused, the kind of track that slots neatly into a late-night playlist or a warm-up set.

It's also a good example of what Ossico does best: pairing his production with a strong voice and letting the two play off each other.

Why Pop and House Make a Great Match

The line between pop and house has been blurring for years, and more and more producers are making songs that work on the radio and in the club. Ossico has been exploring that space for a while now, and "At Midnight" shows how natural that mix can sound when the vocalist and producer are on the same page.
