A Sound Built on Drones

If you know Draku's music, you know the signature: strong drones. His style combines dark, organic sounds with melodic synthesizers, and he is known for building a dense atmosphere that pulls the listener in. Deep basslines and soaring melodies sit side by side, and the result is meant for both dancing and listening.

That approach fits "Inner Awakening" well. A title like that suggests a slow change from within, and peak-time techno at almost six minutes gives the track plenty of space to grow. We think it sits naturally next to his earlier Beyond. release, which was also filed under peak-time techno.

Bolivia, Bavaria and the Booth

Draku was born in Bolivia and grew up in Bavaria, in southern Germany. Besides his DJ sets, he is a producer with several EPs and singles behind him, and one of his releases reached number 36 worldwide on Beatport. His productions are driven by a love of music and a tireless search for brutal sound and an "in your face" feeling.

He also works closely with his studio partner Datu. Together they made "Fire and Darkness," which is credited to Draku and DATU. on Spotify, and more collaborations between the two are on the way. Other tracks in his catalog include "Atlantis," "Kaleos Brachium," "Dark Plantasia," "Raven," "Light in the Darkness" and "Force of Nature."

Music That Tells Stories

For Draku, techno is not only about the dance floor. His tracks are meant to tell stories and awaken emotions, as in "Atlantis." Draku says his music is a way to process emotions and look back at his past. Each release is a personal statement as much as a club tool, and we like that there is a story behind the weight.

"Inner Awakening" carries that idea in its name. It continues a run of releases on Beyond., a label focused on peak-time techno with recent singles from Lazykid and Shawna (DE). The cover art for "Inner Awakening" shows a face cracking apart as blue light bursts out, a very literal picture of something waking up inside.

Final Thoughts

"Inner Awakening" is a new peak-time techno single from a producer with a clear signature. If you play techno, add it to your list to check out.
