Three names on the cover, one job on the dancefloor: "Pushin" is funky house built to keep a room moving. Redford and Walter Vooys are back on House Heads, this time with singer-songwriter MOYA as the featured artist, and the single landed on October 16, 2026.
Back on House Heads
This isn't the duo's first House Heads outing. In May 2026 Redford and Walter Vooys released "My Salvation" on the same label. "Pushin" picks up where that left off, now with a third name on the credits.
The Three Names Behind "Pushin"
Redford is a house producer and DJ from Haarlem in the Netherlands. He started out recording mixtapes in his bedroom as a teenager, and his mixing soon landed him a weekly Friday-night show on Dutch national radio. His sound draws on old-school US and UK house as well as producers like Calvin Harris and MK, and his catalog includes releases on Nervous and Lickin' Records, a dub remix for Strictly Rhythm of Roger Sanchez and Park & Sons' "This Feeling", and a debut single, "Fairytale Love", with Christian Jules.
Walter Vooys is a fellow Dutch DJ who started playing at 17 and quit school a year later to focus on music. More than two decades on, Walter Vooys plays everything from weddings to clubs and festivals, with a collection of around 4,000 records, most of them 12-inch vinyl.
MOYA came to dance music from the stage. The singer-songwriter performed in Broadway and West End productions, including the role of Effie White in Dreamgirls, before releasing her first dance tracks in 2021. Since then she has worked with Noizu and Disciples on "Catch My Love" and with Federico Scavo on "Set Me On Fire" for Toolroom.
Funky House at 125 BPM
Beatport files "Pushin" under funky house, and the tempo sits at 125 BPM, a classic tempo for house. The Spotify version runs three minutes and 12 seconds, while the extended mix stretches to six minutes for DJs who want a longer intro and outro to mix with other funky house. With Redford's love of classic house, a vinyl DJ's ear for what works on a floor and a singer with stage experience, it's easy to see why these three ended up in the same room.
Final Thoughts
"Pushin" brings together a radio-trained producer, a crate-digging DJ and a singer from musical theater, and the result is made for dancing. At 125 BPM, is "Pushin" a warm-up record for you, or does it belong right at peak time? Tell us in the comments.
A Tip for Independent Artists
Redford, Walter Vooys and MOYA put "Pushin" out through a label, but plenty of house producers start by releasing their own records.
