Who Else and Zagitar Drop Voltage on Nu Moda, a Tech House and Indie Dance Peak-Time Jolt

Tech house still owns the Beatport sales charts in 2026, and the sharper end of indie dance just got its own room. On 1 October, Beatport spun Indie Tech out as a standalone category, built around punchy drums, prominent basslines and bold synth hooks for the peak of the night rather than the warm-up. The same week, Buenos Aires-born, Barcelona-based Who Else and longtime collaborator Zagitar dropped Voltage on Max Styler’s Nu Moda, a label whose name literally means “new style.” The timing is almost too clean.

Voltage is the title track of a three-track EP, out 2 October 2026, and it sits right on the line the new chart is trying to draw. DJ Mag Latinoamérica clocked the cut at 128 BPM, opening from tech house territory with a direct, high-impact structure. The other two, Synthalk and Obsession, stretch the same pulse: one built for DJ use (Max Styler already played Synthalk at Tomorrowland 2026), the other leaning further into indie dance without dropping the physical pressure. Groove, tension, and a clear aim at the dancefloor. That is the brief.

Who Else has been walking this underground-to-main-stage line for years. The project started as Electrobios, with releases on Anjunadeep, then sharpened into something that could hold a festival slot without sanding off its identity. The catalogue runs through Defected, Balance, Simulate, Knee Deep In Sound and ERRORR. Support has come from Solomun, Adriatique, Miss Monique, Vintage Culture and Max Styler. There is a Paul Oakenfold remix in the story, and Cassian answered with an unofficial remix of his own. BBC Radio 1 has played the music three times, including features on Massano’s Essential Mix and Steve Lawler’s Essential Mix, with a personal introduction from Pete Tong. Nearly every release lands in the Beatport top charts. Festival stages include Ultra, Tomorrowland, Coachella and The Row. The touring map covers more than twelve countries, Argentina, Brazil, Spain, the US, India, Egypt, Dubai, Australia and beyond, sharing booths with Massano, CamelPhat, Hernán Cattáneo, Above & Beyond and Nick Warren. He also runs Artnova Records, which he co-founded with Zagitar. The pair have been releasing together since 2019, including the EPs Essence and Parallel Pulse.

Nu Moda is the right shelf for this one. Max Styler launched the label in 2025 as a place where house, indie dance and club music could sit together without being pinned to a single tag. Beatport has already named Styler among the artists tied to the new Indie Tech lane, next to names like Adam Ten, Mita Gami and Vintage Culture. Voltage is Who Else and Zagitar’s first release in that universe. Zagitar has said he wanted the EP to capture the energy of a peak-time set: driving, emotional, built for the dancefloor. That is exactly the pressure tech house DJs have been buying all year, and exactly the heavier indie-dance cousin Beatport just gave its own Top 100.

If you are an artist trying to get a record into that conversation, distribution is the unglamorous part that still decides whether a DJ can find the file.
